Sol y Sombra has been Dundee’s original and favourite tapas bar since it opened in 2011. Born out of a childhood love for Spain and Spanish food we have created a menu of fresh, authentic and simple tapas.
Our chefs use the morning’s freshly delivered ingredients to decide which dishes will be served that day. We can cater to all dietary requirements and pride ourselves in offering truly delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes.
We have dining areas on the ground floor and first floor which boast a wide range of gins, beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and our signature sangria. Our expert staff are always on hand to help you find the perfect drink to accompany your tapas.

Me and my family had a wonderful meal at soly last week, the food was presented beautifully and could tell it was all homemade! The tacos were excellent, the lovely Georgia was telling us about their new venture and I cannot wait to try! Highly recommendread more

Wow what a beautiful meal we had here. Lots to choose on the new menu we especially enjoyed the cold plate selection and the hake was outstanding. We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely lunch today made by Ethan and the crew , all served beautifully and all delicious. The slow cooked beef was so good we ordered more !!!but each individual dish was tasty and flavoursome .
The decor was tasteful and the seats soooooooo comfortable .
Thank you to all the staff , looking forward to a revisit and to try the new bar surroundings

There with my lovely sisters in law on Saturday for lunch. It was quiet but staff were very attentive and explained how the menu works. We shared around 3 dishes each and ordered some bread. Honestly, there was loads. The tacos were fabulous, the salmon cooked really well and the baked goats cheese was delicious. Lovely food cooked to a very high standard, lovely, welcoming staff and the new decor is very warm and cosy. All in all a very pleasant lunch out.read more
